    Not the Wisconsin I know

Scott Walker was sworn in as Governor in the beginning of January. One of his first acts as governor was to require a super majority in the legislature to approve any sales or income tax increases.  According to Forbes, states like Wisconsin rely on these taxes to fund their state.  He also signed a multi million dollar tax cut package.      In early March, the governor signed act 10, which basically dismantled collective bargaining rights for public employee unions.. This made headlines and created so much controversy that drove Madison into chaos. The state was broke the governor told us, if the state was broke how can we afford tax cuts similar to what George W. Bush signed.     One of Governor Walker's other acts in his first term was to privatize the commerce department. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation was launched in summer 2011. This did not create economic success, what happened is this program was nothing more than a bunch of unsecured loans to people who donated to Governor Walkers campaign.      Wisconsin became a state that enacted laws like Voter ID and Concealed Carry. Some say that state legislatures is where laws are made and they are right. The governor's actions led to a recall effort of the governor and some state senators. These recall efforts had very minimal success. The DPW fielded the same candidate that it did in 2010 and only led to Walker's celeberty politician status.     Governor Walker is ultimately a reverse Bernie Sanders. Where the government is so horrible so reckless that it should almost do nothing.  I honestly don't think the governor believes in the federal government. He didn't take the federal medicaid money. This populist tone is a less vulgar version of Donald Trump.      Walker was re-elected in 2014 by the same margin that he was in 2010.  Mary Burke's campaign for governor  focused on a john doe probe rather then focus on issues that people care about. Like making sure they have good paying jobs and creating economic opportunity for everyone.     Since Walker was re-elected we have seen our state parks defunded. The states transportation is basically defunct, relying on bonding to fund it. We have seen a 250 Million dollar cut to our states flagship university system while freezing tuition. When you think of states like Kansas the outlook is pretty scary.
